The Tunisian Baths

The project involved landscape design of a boulevard which runs across the port city of Aqaba. The design concept aimed at enhancing the interaction between local people and tourists usually isolated in hotels after it was a “scary” area for families. The design undertook a small prior interviews with the surrounding commercial strip. The design took into consideration the accessibility and safety of people as it is surrounded with roads, it also worked on making the internal spaces accessible by removing any steps and designing ramps and seating spaces across the boulevard. The plan accentuated the aesthetic and functional elements of the site through spaces offering interaction with visitors. Durable urban furniture has been introduced to encourage the use of the space by all types of users of different age groups and needs. Sanabel Supervised the implementation and executed the Softscape and Irrigation Design.
